Learn to paint water, light and reflections in watercolour with Joe Francis Dowden who has a real passion for painting and is enthusiastic about teaching people and communicating the knowledge he has to enable everyone to learn to paint and improve their skills. All abilities welcome. He knows the area well and is inspired by the stunning landscapes and the changing light conditions in the Gorge and in the Mendips. We will do some sketching outdoors and some painting projects in the studio.

Joe is inspirational and instils the confidence to paint and is able to bring out the best in a student with one to one teaching. He has the ability to work alongside beginners and get them painting competently. He can nurture more advanced painters and get them in the fast lane. He has a kind approach and gives a lot of encouragement and is good at re-starting those who have been discouraged in the past. If you want to know how to paint, Joe will show you. He is a storehouse of knowledge. His insights, tips and techniques are often simple. He can identify people's needs and help them fulfil their painting aspirations.
