David Bellamy Painting Rocks & Rugged Landscapes 5th-9th September

David Bellamy who is well known for painting rugged landscapes will be in his element in Cheddar Gorge and will teach you how to paint rocks and the surrounding countryside of the Mendip Hills. The purpose of the course is to improve your painting techniques, enable you to look for subjects and sketch them, gather enough information whilst out on location to produce a painting later and then show you how to turn these sketches into paintings in the studio. He will be assisted by Jenny Keal in this process.

The course starts on Sunday afternoon at 4pm with a demonstration by David. On the following days we will visit the Gorge and the Mendip village of Priddy where we will do some sketching and full paintings. David will do sketching demonstrations outside and full studio demonstration paintings. We also hope to have a demonstration from David in one of the Cheddar caves illustrating the spectacular cave formations. There will be plenty of practical work and one-to-one tuition and help from both David and Jenny.
