Learn to paint stunning Exmoor Landscapes in watercolour where you will paint moorland scenes, cascading rivers, wooded glens, harbours and coastal scenes with Becky Samuelson who has many years experience painting specialising in water, marine, landscape and architectural painting in watercolour. All abilities welcome.

Becky will give a demonstration on Sunday evening and each morning she will give a "tips and techniques" session in the studio and then students will go out on location mid-morning and paint, applying what they have learnt in the studio. There are many stunning locations near to the hotel including The Valley of The Rocks, Watersmeet, Tarr Steps and the harbour and town of Lynmouth which has painting opportunities at every turn.

Becky is a very enthusiastic and energetic teacher and spends much of her time with students on a one-to-one basis giving hands on guidance. You will be sure to learn a lot from the wealth of her experience and her enthusiasm for painting and landscapes.

Learn to paint the beautiful Isle of Wight with Becky Samuelson. Amongst the painting subjects are marine landscapes, marinas, harbours, beaches, inland waterways, villages and even a castle.

This course is predominantly a watercolour course but those wishing to use acrylics are most welcome and will receive full one-to-one tuition in their chosen medium. All abilities welcome.

On Monday Becky will give a demonstration and an introduction to the principles and techniques of watercolour and colour mixing.

Then for the rest of the week we will make the most of painting outdoors and intend to paint Bembridge Harbour where we are privileged with a prime spot and a wet-weather room with a glorious view across the harbour. There are stunning cliff top views to paint, beautiful white cliffs and secluded tree lined beach scenes away from the crowds. There is Carisbrooke Castle where you will be spoilt for choice and when we paint the Victorian seaside town of Ventnor we may even pop into the well known botanical gardens to paint the exotic trees, plants and flowers. Whilst the emphasis will be on marine landscapes there will be plenty of variation in subject matter.
