David will teach you how to paint the
Somerset countryside and coastal landscapes in watercolour.
The purpose of the course is to improve your painting techniques, enable
you to look for subjects and sketch them, gather enough information whilst out
on location to produce a painting later and then show you how to turn these
sketches into paintings in the studio. We will paint coastal scenes, possibly
the Gorge, villages and surrounding countryside.

David’s course runs concurrently with Jenny’s pastel course.
We will visit the same locations but David will teach watercolours and Jenny
will teach pastels. If as friends or partners one of you paints watercolours and
one of you paints in pastels why not join both courses. See details below.

Landscapes in Pastels |

Jenny will teach you how to paint the elements of countryside and coast in
Somerset and the Mendip Hills in pastels.
The purpose of the course is to improve your painting techniques, enable you
to look for subjects and sketch them, gather enough information whilst out on
location to produce a painting later and then show you how to turn these
sketches into paintings in the studio.
She has an amazing ability to catch the light in the landscape and with her
bold use of colours produces striking pastel paintings of landscapes and will
enable you to produce striking paintings with beautiful colours too. Jenny will
work closely with you on a one-to-one basis assisting you with composition,
producing sketches and will help you achieve your goals in producing completed
paintings.

Details
(*) Single Occupancy is where one person occupies a twin or
double room.
Arrival time is from 2pm and the course introduction is at
6pm on the arrival date. The course finishes at 4pm on the departure date.
The deposit is £175 per person (or £100 for
non-residential guests).
