Paint in the stunning Cheddar Gorge and beautiful Mendip Hills with Andrew Pitt, who is well known for his simple and direct teaching methods. This course is for anyone who has tried watercolour and been disappointed with their pictures. Beginners are also welcome. There will be plenty of demonstrations to show how the elusive properties of watercolour – transparency and freshness – can be achieved using simple direct painting methods. Students will also receive individual guidance according to their experience.

Some studio work will take place where Andrew will teach the necessary techniques and an abundance of varied landscape subjects within Cheddar Gorge and the Mendip Hills. On location he will spend time teaching the importance of good composition, what to include and what to leave out and will teach the whole process of converting a landscape into an image on the paper that has the depth and perspective necessary to capture the essence of a scene. | |
